Lowell Davis ‘68 has been inducted into the Maryland Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
“I told them I hope they realize I’m not dead and No. 2, I’m not retired,” Davis joked. “It’s nice to be recognized by your peers no matter what profession you’re in.”
…
Off the field, Davis taught a diverse number of subjects, including advanced placement European history, psychology, economics and world history.
“I’d like to emphasize I’m a teacher first,” he said. “All coaches have to be teachers first.”
So true. Note the wide range of courses that Davis taught. One of the great perks of high school teaching, especially in private schools, is the opportunity to teach just about anything you can and want to teach.
After 30 (!) years at the same school, Davis will be starting at New Canaan High School in Connecticut this fall.
