Libertarians, like John Phillips ‘02, sometimes say the darndest things!
It’s 4 am in Paris and I can’t sleep because I hate the progressive income tax. I just do. The very idea gnaws at me like an unfriendly rat or a cumbersome girlfriend.
Another Eph who needs to read more EphBlog! I wonder what sort of metaphors the unnamed girlfriend might come up with for Phillips . . . Just asking!

Does being a libertarian mean that you can’t enjoy Paris in your mid-20s? I don’t recall reading that in “Anarchy, State, and Utopia.” They should put a Surgeon General’s Warning on the book to let potential readers know of the hazard. :)

John’s from France, actually.
I don’t think his position on France is any different from the native-born far-left or far-right in this country.
And as for the ex-girlfriend, why not ask her yourself?
