(Since I never overlapped with him, I'm not sure if he was pre-med at any point or not.) Doogie has also had a few "Ask the Experts" answers in <em>Runners World</em> on various physiology questions over the last few years. I remember a few issues in a row had Eph connections, including a photo of Matt & Amy Buck from the Marine Corps marathon, answers from Doogie, and Dave Panush '96 and maybe one or two others. Crowther corresponded with RW's then-editor Amby Burfoot (Wesleyan '68) about the column a few years ago, and they're probably still in touch. Burfoot is still closely involved with the production of the website and likely suggested Crowther to Gambaccini. When you're running five interviews a week, fifty-odd weeks a year, you have to cast a wide net. Or perhaps I am just recalling nicknames incorrectly. While I knew Doogie, he was leaving just as I got to Williams. I am curious how that interview came to be.
