It is wonderful to see that Aidan continues to have interesting, albeit occasionally caustic, things to say about life at Williams even though he is now but a doddering alum with no idea of what life is like on campus.
I just wish to note that Willyums is a small school. Maybe we drink too much, maybe we care about sports too much. Maybe, just maybe, we really need an all night burrito place on spring street. But, the one thing Willyums doesn’t need to be is smaller. Slicing up an already cozy community into a couple tiny ones will simply exacerbate the problems we have. And, I’m sure, add a few that nobody even thought about. Trying to extend the entry system over four years (keeping in mind that everybody loves their fucking entry, but only a fraction of people actually liked their entry) is possibly the worst solution to the problem. In the end, chosing housing is like chosing democracy. As our President has stated, you are either with democracy or with terror. I hope we chose democracy.
Aidan and I agree on so much. But could someone explain to me the meaning and usage of “Willyums”?

If I remember, I think “Willyums” came from a conversation I had with one of my friends about the athletics contremps. We ended up arguing that there was Williams and “Willyums.” Whenever the administration tried something like this, they were obviously attempting to address “Willyums.” But the hell do I know?
