It’s a sculpture, called ‘Wind,’ if I remember correctly; if you come out of the dining hall walking toward Carter, it’s next to the path on your right.
God I miss Greylock dining hall, especially the deli lunch…
Why does the College insist on putting up such ugly sculptures in places with better uses? Twenty years ago, that area was a favorite location for tossing frisbees and nerf footballs during lazy evening cook-outs, fall and spring.
At least Rock Fans is gone. Thank goodness for small favors.
One memory of that location for me is walking back to Carter from dinner and being told that the stock market had crashed, down 20% on October 19(?), 1987. It was the classic 10 sigma event. My Wall Street-bound peers were worried for a few weeks, but, as luck and Williams’ future endowment would have it, the market rallied back and all was well.

Correct. Next week will be fun, so just wait. This is my advertising ploy.
