Marc Lynch gives thanks “for so many, many things (beautiful little cub, bouncing baby A, and ravishing Mrs Aardvark, I’m looking at you!) and consuming huge amounts of turkey . . . ”
Attentive readers will note that Marc is now following EphBlog’s First Rule of Blogging: Thou shalt always praise one’s wife in the blog.
Good advice for all of us.
And on a personal note, I am certain that Mrs. Aardvark, whom I have never met, is not only ravishing, but thoughtful, intelligent, caring, emphathetic and otherwise wonderful. And I hope that she remembers I said this when she is reviewing the applications from my daughters Michaela and Cassandra in a decades time . . .

Kane,
I guarantee you that if you continue to blog with disrespect for facts, ethics and common courtesy, your daughters will be rejected faster than you can falsely accuse someone of another crime.

Dear would-be-anonymous poster in New York,
Felicitations and Happy Thanksgiving!
Might I take this moment to point out that Washington’s original Proclamation of Thanksgiving, much like Lincoln’ s latter Proclamation, is a call to give thanks for the many forms of Providence which establish and protect and bind us as nation and people?
Not to mention, a call to give service to that Providence?
Thanks for our lives and our nation and our world of nations and peoples, and thanks that peace now prevails over war, thanks to those Ephs and other who currently give service in Iraq and elsewhere, and my particular thanks for the Providence of a certain Aussie lass– among others– for her thoughtful, intelligent, caring, emphathetic and otherwise wonderful role in my life and that of several nations.
Oh, and for the would-be-anonymous, 68.173.5.58 is a residential connection in the “E” section of RoadRunners’ metro NYC network, an area of about three square blocks. The geographically nearest ephBlog post to your physical location was made just under 10 weeks ago, and about two blocks away– though evidently not by you. The residential network you posted from has evidently security vunerablilies in a web server on port 80, in ssl on port 443, and various etc. Your machine seems to be running Windows XP… and there are several tools that coudl determine your location to within a few hundred feet, and the boys at RoadRunner are usually pushovers about giving out customers’ physical addresses, when it comes down to that. Thanks to the fact that you do not live in an area that, for lack of the Providences above, your self-expression might have deadly consequences.
Thanks to David and other Marines for giving part of their lives to preserve that Providence, with hope that many others will also give some part of today and tomorrow to consider how they might serve that Providence.

I don’t believe that I have ever “falsely accuse[d] someone” of a crime. If I have, please point out the mistake and I would be happy to correct the record.
