He’s standing in front of Griffin Hall. It’s a Civil War monument. I’ve seen similar statues in town squares; what I don’t know is if there was a Carnegie grant thing where every community received a statue, or whether each town decided on its own decided there should be a memorial to its Civil War dead.
Anyone with insight into this?
Don’t know about any historical insights, but if you look closely you can see the tie he’s been wearing since 2001. A bit faded, but definitely still there.
