This (EDIT: Advertisements on the site possibly NSFW), via a rather popular Boston sports blog, has the whiff of bullshit about it, seeing as how it’s a) out of character and b) sounds like a line from a bad high school movie. Here’s hoping, at least.

I opened the article with an open mind, but the second and third paragraphs — and the ranting and raving they contain — make it clear that it is a bunch of BS that is probably from someone still bitter that Crotty and his teammates beat his NESCAC squad on the court a few years ago and is even more bitter after learning about his great job with the Celtics. (Can anyone say bitter amHerst alum?)
Anyone who knows Mike Crotty knows just how kind, honest, and gracious he is. The garbage claims in that letter are nothing more than a bad joke.

You might want to write the blog and get them to verify or retract this story. It is a pretty big slam on a guy, if he does not deserve it. People should be honest about what they right in these types of forums, and this is more than just an opinion based piece.

I opened that story and immediately closed it. It would have been nice to have a warning that the ads in the sidebar are definitely not work safe.

there was a similar story about Crotty’s alleged arrogance on celticsblog.com in the comments on a story about him as a coach for the team. I was going to write a post about it, but the negative comments were so full of vitriol, i didn’t want to link to it.
There definitely are some people still pissed about how Williams dominated their squads during Crotty’s time at Williams. Oh well…they don’t have jobs with the celtics now, do they? lol

A whiff of BS? I’d call it full-blown bovine flatulence, genuine pastoral libel, in a magazine clearly published for-and-by wannabes. He was one of the best players I ever saw, and by every account a real gentleman. I hope someone will respond to this publication that is obviously aimed at, uh, the D-B segment of the population.
