Yup, Williams-Mystic. The guy in the boat is a Williams student.
Each student chooses a skill that they do two afternoons a week. This is the “small boat handling” skill. Other skills are blacksmithing, sea chanteys, demonstration squad, and celestial navigation. In the boat handling skill, which I also did, you learn to sail small boats (Dyer Dhows, pictured, and JY-14s) in the early fall, and then when it gets too cold, you learn about power boating and take a certification exam.
Guy- It is amazing what sparks those memories in life. Thanks for sharing that one with us. Take the time to pause and really feel it again. It is always worth it.

Yes, Williams Mystic Yacht. You take provisions and shove off for 3 months. If you make it back, you’ve passed.
