We could use more of this type of thing, but if action is taken to effect it, then current politics being what they are, someone surely will complain that his interests have been ignored or misrepresented - which will turn my stomach.
Of course it’s tacky - a Xmas tree is almost always tacky. Tacky or not is not the test. It’s a celebratory banner for Christ’s sake. What do you expect? Remove the ramrod - it must be uncomfortable!
I like it, I think of Williams as a place which takes itself a little less seriously than some of its peers, and things like this banner, mountain day, the eyes, the proliferation of dogs around campus, and of course anything purple cow related tend to further that spirit.
Diana: You are familiar with my nature. I am seldom nice but never hide. As Flip Wison used to say on TV (in the 60s), “what you sees is what you get”.
Frank: Indeed. It is for this reason that I chastized the anonymous commentator for insinuating that s/he would rather you were dead, rather than chastizing you for overtly stating that most of the 2.1 billion Christians should be “slurred.”

It’s been there at least since Monday. I don’t know if I like it–it’s a bit tacky, IMHO.

Tacky? Au contraire — quite charming, and just in time to warmly welcome potential applicants to the Class of 2012.

“a Xmas tree is almost always tacky” and “for Christ sake” …wow… two Christian slurs in defence of All Hallows Eve…Stingy Jack would be proud.

The way you behave, you Christians deserve to be slurred.

I guess there is proof that modern medicines extention of life span is not always a good thing.
