Didn’t get an invite to Herb Allen’s ‘63 annual Sun Valley pow-wow for media big-wigs? Me either.
Greetings from Sun Valley!
We’re back this year, on the ground at Allen & Company’s annual media and technology conference, rubbing elbows at the epicenter of moguldom and bringing you the behind-the-scenes deal-making — and late-night gossip. With the markets in freefall, and media and telecommunications stocks in a slump, the mood among the nation’s machers is not exactly festive.
My heart bleeds for depressed moguls everywhere.
Here is the agenda.

Where are the moguls of manufacturing? I don’t see any of them on the agenda. If this clambake had been held 60 years ago, Engine Charlie Wilson and Tom Watson (Senior that is) would have been speakers.

…would be to add (credit card industry expert) Gary Marino, who runs BILL ME LATER… to the symposium on CREATIVE CAPITALISM… or at least to the discussion titled WHERE WE ARE, WHERE WE SHOULD BE
… whichever of the events that might address the roots of our fiscal woes…

With all due respect, is a Mogul a person who flies our intellectual and physical assets out of the country on a flying carpet?
Prince Philip appeared at Wharton to discuss outsourcing and offshoring as beneficial to free trade practices in 1976. Such betrayals served the interests of the brokerage trade and the empowerment of slave labor, while reserving our nation as a resource based economy with a Wall Street BillBoards promoting dollar carry trade.
In that case, we need to detain these persons and their programs and we need to assess our role in maintaining our strategic position regarding our intellectual property and removing the capitalist system that is sucking our assets and displacing people around the world.
These impresarios, some of whom I know, are cashiering our society without due regard to due process and rights. Creative Capitalism is Grand Theft and the blowback is felt by all.
These big-wigs with their festive manner are celebrating the Obama coronation with donations and great fanfare.
The epicenter is near and nigh.
Media recedes as men withdraw their support. The anchor of media remains effeminate and thus ineffectual and impotent. We will retire the old guard for lack of attention and indifference.
Perhaps their venture into internet II will give them the control they need to distance resistance to their practices of dharma and the collective dialogue of their new bioethics.
