The New England school, well-known for athletics and its art programs, combines both aspects in this break-through appointment.
Readers are encouraged to submit their own improbable but interesting appointments.

Good one. I take it Dan Cohen was your inspiration?

Dick,
What wonderful serendipity, as I heard that Wayne Thiebaud will be on campus to do a ‘creative overhaul’ of the Paresky snack bar!
Such a creative, innovative campus! What next!?
(BTW…ROTFL)

Honestly…will wonders never cease?
This just in:
“Alberto Giacometti, Jr. (son of the famed sculptor), has just been appointed as Assistant Basketball Coach at Williams College.
‘Slim’ (as he’s known to his friends) is an accomplished player in his own right. And, it has long been suspected that he served as muse and model for the work of his talented father…”

The story on Thiebaud is only a cover up. I got this straight from the Dining Services ladies. He’s really being brought in to make the Wedding Cake House/Morty’s Mansion fit in better with the ‘62 Center/The (Trumpy) Pompadour Pavillion.

As a sidelight to the lgeorge sidelight, (shades of ’shortcut to the shortcut’/ Holiday Inn), I point out that Martin Pompadur ‘55 is a long-time broadcast and internet executive living in Connecticut. I had the pleasure of working several floors and many ranks below him when we were both with ABC-TV in the 60’s.
He shares no likeness to The Donald, hirsute or otherwise!

More exciting news!
Apparently, Williams is attempting to integrate curriculum in other creative ways as well.
Rumor has it, that this year’s Winter Study is offering an exciting series of classes called…
“Math For Mind and Body; Moving, Grooving, and Proofing”
taught by none other than Williams own;
Erin ‘Burn It’ Burnett, and Bethany ‘Lean and Mean’ McLean.
A sampling of topics;
“Optimum Shapes”: Learn about the shape of a nanoparticle, while improving your own.
“Econometrics”: Rise to the challenge of immovable force; quantitative economic analysis and isometrics, all rolled into one dynamic class.
“Investing in Your Future”: How to add 20 years to your life span and 20 K to your portfolio.
I heard it’s filling up fast. Good thing DK was the first to sign up!

I hear DK is going to teach a Winter Study class as well:
“The Importance of Conscientious Journalism”
