Will this affect any applicant’s decision making?

I was at Middlebury a few years ago. They had a wood burning stove in the meeting room in their student union. Like many asthmatics I am very alergic to wood fires. Presumablly anyone with respiratory problems, who gets a tour of campus, will simply not apply. Suppose the new World Trade Center tried to heat with wood. Can you imagine the pollution and public health problems?

PS Ordinary home fire place fires don’t bother me. But, large heating units do. And the huge thing at Middlebury sure did. I suspect others with alergies are the same.

Note that Mark Orlowski ‘04 is the founder and key person at the Sustainable Endowments Institute. Previous posts here. Note the C that Williams received in transportation.
Is TNG still active? If so, a good project would be to estimate the carbon impact of student driving. How many students have cars? How many miles do they drive?
I bet that forcing all students to park at the most distant lot (Cole Field) would cut auto-related carbon emissions by more than half.

Looks like some grade inflation (excluding Hamilton)…
