Interesting interview with Bethany McLean ‘92.
Great scarf and insightful comments.
McLean notes the responsibility of a journalist to “Say what you think.” Indeed. Same applies to bloggers.

I didn’t read McLean’s book, but I look forward to seeing what she contributes to Vanity Fair.
She has an unusual grace and delicacy, which is refreshing considering the fortitude she must need to succeed within her field of work.

I wish I could “off the top of my head” quote Bethany more precisely from Reunion weekend: but one of the more significant things she said was that assembling the story– getting the information– was often a matter of persistence, calling again and again until you got through, keeping calling (everyone), and– I’ll deviate from how Bethany said it altogether, and say both protocol and grace, treating people well and appreciating their time, help and insight.
Bethany used fewer works and said it better.
