1) What should we call this page?
2) Do we need this page and the eph _at_ ephblog.com page?
3) My preference would be to have just one page called “Open Thread.” This would feature the standard contact info at the top and then allow for comments on anything anybody wanted. Every one in a while, we would delete all the old comments.
I realize that this means that users who want to contact us would need to click on this link or the FAQ to figure out what the right e-mail address is, but the subset of readers who a) want to contact us and b) don’t know to do that (or can figure it out) is small.

Congratulations to Senator Obama and Senator Biden and to their many passionate supporters here at EphBlog and elsewhere. I know he could be a great president, and I really hope that he becomes one.
It was also a good day for Eph politicians Udall and Murphy.
The most disappointing thing from yesterday was the (apparent) approval of Prop. 8 in CA to overturn the state supreme court and re-institute a ban on same-sex marriage.
The most astonishing result was from Alaska, which seemingly is poised to return convicted felon Ted Stevens to the Senate so that he can be expelled sometime next year. I guess the electorates of Alaska and Washington DC have more in common than I realized, at least with respect to electing felons to jurisdiction-wide office and an apparent disdain for the findings of DC juries.

Maybe the Alaskans are enjoying the attention so much that they want to make sure they have a chance for a special election, with all eyes upon them.
