JeffZ says:
Frustrating half. Williams in control but down thanks to two big plays. Got to be less sloppy in second half.

PTC says:
conditioning is the only thing that wins this one now…. let’s hope the jeffs run out and the ephs surge
PTC says:
conditioning baby…
PTC says:
man… not a timeout now… keep them playing… don’t slow it down now…
nuts says:
Refs made a horrible call on the second half “interception” by Amherst. Both players had possession of the ball while on the ground: tie goes to offense, not defense.
JeffZ says:
It was horrible call. One of those game that proves football is a game of inches. In addition to that call, if Williams had just fallen on that botched snap on the punt … if the Eph defender hadn’t tipped the ball right to Amherst on its last touchdown … if another Eph defender had held onto an INT and sure pick six … if an Eph receiver had held onto what seemed like a TD catch … if the Eph tight end had gotten one more yard on the last offensive play of the game. The theme in the off-season for the Ephs, I will promise already, will be one more yard, one more catch, one more inch … they were the more talented team out there, but Amherst came through on every big play it seemed like. With 8/11 offensive starters (from today) and 9/11 on defense returning, the Eph are going to be stacked, and highly motivated, next year. But for now, that loss is one of the more brutal in Williams history. And that’s what makes the rivalry great, as each has inflicted many of the most painful losses on the other. Williams has gotten the better of crucial situations in recent years, but not today …
1980 says:
It was a horrible call but I think the better team won today. Amherst played mistake free ball, made several big plays count and their defense was very good (very fast up front). Another great game.

Put it in perspective. How does losing to Amherst stack up against the death of an offspring – or, posibly worse,a grandchild?
jeffz says:
Frank, if folks didn’t get overly excited about essentially frivolous endeavors and outcomes, a substantial portion of the human experience, and in particular the American experience, would be nullified. Look at this blog as exhibit one …

Are you saying that we all are or should be a bunch of Drama Queens?
